A very strong piece. I just re-read "The Best and the Brightest", which I'd last read (gulp) fifty years ago. Those were different times - very intelligent people making stupid decisions whereas now, as you describe, we have stupid, unqualified and inexperienced people making stupid decisions. The result is the same. I hope your piece gets wide dissemination.

Can I add another example of asymmetric warfare? An occasion where the more powerful army found itself in a quagmire? The original guerrilla, the war of Napoleon's army in Spain.
